Speed Reducer Repair

B&D Service repairs and refurbishes speed reducers, often for about 60% of the cost of buying a new one.  All of our work comes with a full warranty, and we can even install and maintain your reducer once it’s repaired.

INSPECTION / REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Disassemble and inspect unit, removing all gearing, bearings, and seals
2. Check all housing bores for wear, shaft concentricity and cracks
3. Measure bearing seats and seal surfaces on shafts for wear
4. Check oil passages and drains for obstructions
5. Examine gearing for wear, metal fatigue, brinneling, and burrs
6. A written proposal is then submitted to you for approval
7. After approval is given to proceed, unit is then thoroughly cleaned by caustic vat/steam cleaning system
8. Any machine work required is performed
9. All bearings, seals, shims, gaskets, and any other defective components are replaced
10. Dial indicate gearing and bearings for proper clearances
11. PDR inside of housing and components
12. Unit is completely repainted with industrial enamel coating
13. All exposed shafts are treated with color guard to prevent corrosion
14. Each unit is tagged with a stamped, stainless steel I.D. tag
